Lectures are held in the visitor centre (Serrehuis), followed in the afternoon by a visit of the Rubus collection in the arboretum.
Arboretum Kalmthout is located in the north of the province of Antwerp in Belgium, and can easily be reached by public transport, by train or by car.
Travel by train: replacement bus between Essen-Antwerp-Kalmthout on 1 & 2 October!
Arboretum Kalmthout is within walking distance of the Kalmthout train station.
During the weekend of October 1 & 2, Belgian Railway is conducting work between Antwerp-Kalmthout-Essen. There will be a replacement bus going between Antwerp Central train station and Kalmthout, with 7 intermediate stops. In Antwerp, the replacement bus leaves from Koningin Astridplein (near entrance Zoo, the square in front of the train station). In Kalmthout the bus leaves from the train station. From the ring road of Antwerp: head towards Breda, continue to the E19, exit 4 Kalmthout, follow first the N117 and then the N111 towards Kalmthout, 1 km from the built-up centre of Kalmthout cross the railway line, and then we're a further 70 m on the right-hand side. Alternatively: Antwerp Ring towards Bergen op Zoom (A12), exit 13 Stabroek, turn right on the N111, after about 12 km on this road the entrance to the grounds is on the left-hand side.
From the Netherlands: A16 Breda - Antwerp, in Belgium this becomes the E19, exit 2 Kalmthout/Loenhout, follow first the N144 and then the N111 towards Kalmthout, 1 km from the built-up centre of Kalmthout cross the railway line, and then we're a further 70 m on the right-hand side.
Car park: There are car parks on the premises, situated Heuvel 8, 2920 Kalmthout, free of charge. Additional free parking spaces are available at the Kalmthout railway station, which is located 200 metres from the visitor's entrance.
